If you feel an interest .....

  • Get a 360x288 pixel picture (Width x Height)
    .
  • Create a file (you can give it any name you want)
Everything that will follow (pictures, html pages) will have to be stored in that file
If you want to build several puzzles then you'll have to create a specific file for each puzzle
    .
  • To build a 9 piece puzzle, divide the picture into nine 120 x 96 pixel pieces
Store the 9 pieces in a GIF format and give them the following names : image1.gif, image2.gif, ..., image9.gif (row by row)

(To divide my pictures I use the Adobe PhotoDeluxe software).

To build a 12 piece puzzle, divide the picture into twelve 90 x 96 pixel pieces
Store the 12 pieces in a GIF format and give them the following names : image1.gif, image2.gif, ..., image12.gif (row by row)

To build a 16 piece puzzle, divide the picture into sixteen 90 x 72 pixel pieces
Store the 16 pieces in a GIF format and give them the following names : image1.gif, image2.gif, ..., image16.gif (row by row)

To build a 20 piece puzzle, divide the picture into twenty 72 x 72 pixel pieces
Store the 20 pieces in a GIF format and give them the following names : image1.gif, image2.gif, ..., image20.gif (row by row)
    .
  • To build a 9 piece puzzle with " pieces beside the puzzle " , load the page puzBes9.htm and store it in the source format.

To build a 12 piece puzzle with " pieces beside the puzzle " , load the page puzBes12.htm and store it in the source format

To build a 16 piece puzzle with " pieces beside the puzzle " , load the page puzBes16.htm and store it in the source format

To build a 20 piece puzzle with " pieces beside the puzzle " , load the page puzBes20.htm and store it in the source format

To build a 9 piece puzzle with " pieces in the puzzle " , load the page puzIn9.htm and store it in the source format.

To build a 12 piece puzzle with " pieces in the puzzle " , load the page puzIn12.htm and store it in the source format.

To build a 16 piece puzzle with " pieces in the puzzle " , load the page puzIn16.htm and store it in the source format.

To build a 20 piece puzzle with " pieces in the puzzle " , load the page puzIn20.htm and store it in the source format.
    .
  • Store the following blank picture with the name : blanc.gif

    .
  • If you build a puzzle with " piece beside the puzzle " , store the following picture with the name : interog.gif

    .
  • Open your Navigator : Netscape or Explorer 4.? and more
Open the html page you've previously stored (for example puzBes9.htm) ... and if everything went off smoothly... it should work!

You can ...

  • Change the colour of the background
    .
  • Replace the blanc.gif and interog.gif pictures by other pictures of the same size
    .
  • Insert links, add text fields, buttons, pictures, ...
    .
  • BE CAREFUL, some " html pages generators " automatically modify some items ... Make your tests with a copy of the file
